Condiment Set
Project context
As part of a design assignment, I was asked to create a condiment set using wood and plaster. The challenge was to design a set that not only functioned well but also conveyed aesthetic balance and unity.

Approach
Using the IPO design process, I began experimenting with forms by casting plaster into balloons. This allowed me to create organic, rounded shapes that I could refine into the desired curves and surfaces. These plaster vessels were then combined with a wooden plateau, arranged in a circular composition that emphasized harmony and flow.

Tools & Techniques
IPO design process
Plaster casting (balloon molds)
Woodworking for the base
Form exploration & aesthetic analysis
Outcome
Reflection
The final design was a condiment set with elegant curves and soft surfaces, positioned together on a handcrafted wooden plateau. The result was a visually balanced composition where each element contributed to the harmony of the whole.
This project deepened my understanding of form, proportion, and aesthetics. It trained me to justify my design choices and to think critically about why certain shapes and materials work well together.
